Newborn Sleep Help

Being tired and exhausted is a part of being a new mother or parent, but you're worried that you'll never get a good night's sleep ever again. You've made it through the first weeks at home but now you're facing the end of leave and the transition back to work. You have so many questions about everything sleep-related from starting on a schedule, how to get baby to take a nap, when baby should be going to bed, to when should baby transition out of swaddle and the transition to the crib.

You’re going back to work soon.  Baby is already not sleeping much and you're concerned how things will go once you go back to a regular work schedule. So many things to consider; feeding/pumping plans, keeping breastfeeding going, how do you get baby on a schedule, etc.
You want to set your little one up for sleep success. You want a solid plan to help your baby to start sleeping through the night when they're ready so you both get the rest you need.

You want to help your newborn sleep at night, but where do you start?
  • Is your baby awake all night and won't nap during the day?
  • Does your newborn rely on you to fall asleep using things such as rocking, holding, swinging, pacifier, bouncing, Snoo, nursing, feeding, etc.?
  • Are you unsure when you should start to have a schedule for baby?
  • Are you wondering when your baby will sleep longer than 2 hours?
  • Are you worried about breastfeeding and/or pumping when you return to work?

Help  with adjusting to daycare/nanny/caregiver. If your baby will be going to daycare, nanny or other babysitter while you're at work, you want to make the transition to daycare as easy as possible. And you want to ensure that your baby's caregiver will be able to get baby to sleep.

When you work with me, you will:
  • Understand your baby's sleep cues and learn how to teach your baby healthy sleep habits using gentle sleep methods you choose, whether formula-fed, bottle or breastfed.
  • Learn what's normal for newborn sleep and what to expect as baby grows.
  • Sleep at night and have the confidence your baby is getting the sleep he or she needs.
  • Learn to reduce and eventually eliminate night feedings when baby is ready.
  • Learn how to mitigate dreaded sleep regressions, growth spurts and teething.
  • Have the support of a recognized children's sleep expert, Certified Lactation Counselor and Postpartum Doula to support you!

Option 1: Baby Sleep 101

This 1-hour one-on-one class, teaches you all about your newborn's sleep. You'll learn what's normal for newborn sleep, how much sleep baby needs and how to get baby sleeping during the night and for naps. Whether breastfed or formula fed, you'll learn how to recognize when your baby is tired, how to keep night feedings simple & easy, and how to start your baby on the path to sleeping through the night. This is NOT sleep training of any sort, it's an education about your baby's sleep and how to introduce healthy sleep habits. Even if you're using the Snoo or other motion bassinet, your baby can sleep at night.
  • Written Step by Step Sleep Plan: Specific steps to teach your baby how to sleep well at night and take longer, more consistent naps during the day.
  • Get Concrete Next Steps to Teach Healthy Sleep Habits: Learn things you can use immediately to help your newborn sleep without being held, sleep in the bassinet or crib and how to increase the number and length of short naps. You'll learn to understand your baby's sleep cues vs hunger cues, how to get your baby sleeping at night and nap longer than 30 minutes. No need to sleep train later when you start your baby off right!
  • Learn to Navigate Common Sleep Challenges such as dreaded sleep regressions, swaddle transition, rolling, handling night feedings, dealing with illnesses, nap transitions and even how to travel with baby so you can continue the great sleep!
  • Follow-up Support: Includes 1x, 30-minute check-in call to answer your questions and check on progress to start your baby's sleep off to a great start.

Investment in healthy sleep skills: $275

Makes a unique baby shower or holiday gift! No matter what your parenting style is, all parents need sleep. Gift certificates are available!

Option 2: Mama's Going Back to Work--Newborn Sleep

  • Comprehensive Sleep Assessment: Evaluation of different factors that are affecting your baby’s sleep and help identify areas for improvement. I'll look at things such as your baby's current days and nights, sleep environment, feedings, baby's temperament, your parenting style and even things like your family's daily routine to create your baby's sleep plan.
  • Step-by-Step Written Sleep Plan: Created just for your baby, this step-by-step written sleep plan will guide you to change your baby’s sleep from unpredictable to sleeping through the night, making bedtime easy, night feedings easy and taking good daytime naps. You'll learn how to teach your baby healthy, independent sleep skills and how to help baby practice these new skills.
  • Sleep Plan Review: We’ll discuss your baby’s current situation, the ways it’s being affected and how to make changes to your baby's sleep. We'll talk about different about methods to teach your child to fall asleep independently (even if you're breastfeeding) and I’ll walk you through your written plan so you’re 100% comfortable with everything we're going to do. I also want to make sure you're confident you know what to do at night.
  • 6 Weeks of Unlimited Follow-Up Support:  Yes, that's right, 6 weeks of support and guidance through phone, text and email to teach your baby to learn how to fall asleep without your assistance, transition to the crib, sleep through the night, take longer daytime naps, get out of the swaddle; whatever is needed! We'll track your child’s progress to ensure we get the right amount of sleep for your baby, taking naps in the crib and how to get through the four- month sleep regression with ease. You'll both be rested and ready to go back to work and if needed, transition baby to daycare or nanny.
  • Continuing the Great Sleep as Baby Grows: Unlike night nannies or doulas, you'll feel empowered as a parent to help your baby sleep because you'll know what to do as baby grows! Learn how to navigate sleep regressions and developmental milestones, dealing with illnesses, teething, nap transitions and even how to travel with baby; so you can ensure your baby sleeps well even through the toughest sleep challenges!
